John Veon

John Veon provides a dedicated and passionate Veteran's voice to Pancakes For Roger, having served as a paratrooper with the 82d Airborne Division in the First Gulf War. He began advocating for Veterans' issues in 2014 when he was made aware of the suicide epidemic that was running through the Veteran community; at that time, it was estimated that 22 Veterans a day were killing themselves.

In 2015, he planned, organized, and successfully launched a 10,000-mile solo motorcycle ride across the USA in partnership with Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to reduce the rising trend in Veteran and military suicides, personally raising $10k with zero corporate funding. He has been formally recognized and awarded at the 2015 IAVA Heroes Gala for Inspirational Leadership In Veteran Affairs, and has been a guest speaker at the 2016 Sturgis motorcycle rally on the main stage in front of 25,000 attendees with Victory Motorcycles and Veteran Ambassador R. Lee Ermey. John has volunteered as an ambassador with the Travis Manion Foundation, working to develop character and leadership skills in young adults. He is deeply grateful to be on the board of Pancakes For Roger and to have the opportunity to continue to serve the Veteran community.

He brings years of experience as a professional project and program management expert to PFR, with a history of successfully driving innovative, high-value digital products to market for internationally recognized Fortune 500 brands. He's currently a full-time student at Pratt Institute, working towards a Master of Science in Information Experience Design. He loves his rescue dog Henry more than most humans, has a serious motorcycle addiction, and will always be a paratrooper at heart. #AATW
